Shomai rice is really popular in the Philippines, especially for people looking for a quick and cheap meal, like workers trying to save money. It tastes good and is easy to eat, so it's great for a fast meal. Sometimes homemade shomai tastes even better, but usually, the ones sold are ready to steam. Theyre still tasty but I prefer homemade shomai. 

Some people like that its easy to find and not expensive. But not everyone thinks its the best. Some say it doesnt have much flavor or freshness it like meat with soy sauce Despite that, many people in the Philippines still love shomai rice including me i love it wether it fried or steamed combined wit calamansi chili oil and fried garlic.
