Tablea

This is Tablea that i got from Bicol. When you talk about chocolates here in the Philippines the first will come to our mind is Tablea. It was from the first traditional way of making chocolate here  in the Philippines. I think it's the Spanish people who introduced Chocolate to our country. Infact Tablea is spanish term for Tablet or Tableta because of the shape of the chocolate. I just hear it From the sellers of This tablea.

They also teach us about the 5 process for making tablea.
Harvesting, Opening, Fementation, Milling and the Packaging. And the shelf life of tablea can go up to more than 7 years but according to them the original taste of tablea can disappear for a long time so its still best To buy and eat a fresh Tablea.

This is Very nostalgic for me, I remember My grandma and my mother makes us Hot chocolate for breakfast Using tablea, They also mix it with sticky rice then we will have our own Champorado. But the Best for me is my Mother's suman rice cake Its so delicious because she is adding Tablea.

Tablea have a big part of my Childhood, And now that im Already a senior citizen im Introducing it Now to my Grandchildrens.
If your a foreigner you must Try this, For filipinos let us not forget Tablea because its Still exist. Let us not forget that Tablea is part of our history, culture and everyday lives of Filipinos.

Tablea is my key to my delicious champorado, a sweet chocolate rice. To make my champorado, we typically cook glutinous rice with water, sugar, and tablea, for me its is better than the powder chocolate hehe. Champorado is often enjoyed as our breakfast or snack, especially during rainy or cold weather.
