Vice President Sarah Duterte has been on a hot seat because of the controversial confidential funds that was allocated in her office in the year 2022 national budget and was reported spent in just 11 days according to the Commision on Audit (COA) the overwhelming public clamor to remove and realign confidential funds promted the congress to scrap confidential funds for the Office of the Vice President (OVP) Department of Education (DepEd) Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) Department of Agriculture (DA) and the Department of Information and Communication Technology (DICT)in the proposed 2024 national budget and instead they will only receive a certain amount for "Maintenance and Other Operating Expenses (MOOE) Apparently certain agencies in charge of protecting the West Philippine Sea will then receive 1.23 billion in confidential funds according to the house panel.
