What is your experience in LDR with a foreigner

When i get separated from my husband of 11 years it took me a year or two before i start socializing again and thru facebook i met a lot of new friends and acquaintances somebody dragged my account in some dating groups where i met a lot of people from all over the world and i enjoyed it having to know more about someone's culture and personalities and one day I just found myself in a relationship with a british man it went well from the start despite time differences we were able to communicate a lot everyday he was indeed a very nice guy he never had me feel bad throughout our relationship but only after he met an accident at his work that made him paralyzed and disable everything changed until one one day he decided to let go of me for a reason that he doesnt want to be a burden to me in his condition that he could no longer afford to come over here to meet me personally neither get me out of the country since he isnt that well off..its hard and hurts me but then i have to accept it but then we turned out as friends after that and we still chat occasionally how i wish the distance between us is just a bus ride away then i guess we wouldnt be giving up on each other bcoz i know for myself that i can take care of him and i am willing to do so bcoz for so many times in our lives he has been able to feed my kids and give some of their happiness
