Is it important to have godfather and godmother?

Asking this, because my mom and sister is arguing. My sister cant decide if she can proceed her daughters christening because her money is not enough.

My mother said just pursue it, having many godfather and godmother is not important, What matters most is for your child to be baptized and be a catholic. (Which makes sense, my mom clearly has a point)

But my sister insisted that its important, because she wants her daughter to have many gifts on christmas, LOL HAHAHAHA and the role of Godmother/father is to be a second parent, she knows that they will help her daughter when she need them.

Its hard to meddle with them but they are asking my opinion. Maybe you can help too. What is your thoughts about this? Thankyou ❤️

Getting a lot of godparents doesnt guarantee that everyone will help you in times of your needs and thats a fact

Well, sis Jona is right. Godparents is not important to me.

Because in my own experience my godparents is always mia. Missing in action every christmas haha thats why i have never experienced having or receiving gifts when christmas.
