How to preserve onion in the fridge?

Any tips on how to preserve chopped onions in the fridge? Will it contain oil like garlic? Also the tomotoes, I have to save and if necessary don't throw them away because of the high price of the product now.

Before you put it in the refrigerator, make sure your chopped onion is dry use a dry paper towel then buy a resealable plastic bag try to buy in shoppe there's so many cheap resealable plastic bags their but make sure the quality of the product read buyer feedback
