Type Horizon 101, Mango, Cebu" into Google Maps to find this place.
These are condo apartments rented out by private owners. Prices start from around 1300 PHP per night for a studio apartment.
Most apartments will have everything you need for cooking. They will usually have TV channels and internet, but to make sure, ask before you pay.
The aircon, bed, general cleanliness, and layout will differ since the owners are different. This review is more about the place and not so much about the rooms.
The location is excellent, in the middle of the best nightlife area in Cebu City for a foreigner.
Everything you need is just around the corner. Ayala and SM malls are just a quick taxi ride away.
I believe it is a missed opportunity with the area around the swimming pool. It could have been an oasis; instead, it is just a few chairs and tables.
If you have kids younger than 11, you should know that only the baby pool is allowed for them to use. That wasn't very pleasant for us since the swimming pool was the only reason we went there to keep learning Liam to swim. Also, Liam is not interested in the kiddy/baby pool. He wanted to swim, so he had to be brought up again since he just kept trying to go to the big pool.
You are also not allowed to go down and have a quick swim like I wanted to do to keep my back in training. They demand your shorts to be dry so no water drips before you return to your room. That meant I could also not use the pool since I had no time for that as I am a working man.
This is not an issue for a person with no kids and enough time to hang around the pool area, but it was for us. We could have rented a similar room nearby for half the price but without a swimming pool.
We had lived here several times before and never had issues, but now, as a family with a kid and me being busy with work, things are very different.
Remember, when you see my dice, this can still be a good place for you, but for me, I have to roll the dice from my experience here. My dice have nothing to do with the room, it is the strange rules that are nowhere to be found in any other places we have been here in the Philippines, and we have lived in 10+ condos and 100+ hotels.
We will not be back until Liam is 11 years old and my workload is lessened.
I hope you enjoy the video.
